Your Recovery Phrase
Your seed phrase is a unique 12-word phrase that is generated when you first set up LYOWALLET. Your funds are connected to that phrase. If you ever lose your password, your seed phrase allows you to recover your wallet and your funds working as secret recovery phrase. Write it down on paper and hide it somewhere, put it in a safety deposit box, or use a secure password manager. Some users even engrave their phrases into metal plates!
The seed phrase or recovery phrase is designed to make wallet recovery easier in the event that you switch mobile devices, delete the wallet app, or lose your wallet password.
If you opt-out of cloud recovery phrase, or if you do not have device recovery phrase enabled on your device, we strongly recommend you write your 12-word seed phrase and store it securely.
LYOWALLET cannot reset or recover wallet passwords or recovery phrases, so if you lose your wallet password and do not have your recovery phrase, access to your wallet and crypto will be lost.
- 1.Open the wallet.
- 2.Enter your Passcode.
3. Click on Settings.
4. Click on Backup Recovery Phrase.
5. Accept the terms and confirm.
6. Save the recovery phrase then click confirm you safely stored, like the image below.
